Explore Rentals is Bozeman’s original independent car rental and outdoor gear rental agency. For over a decade, we have been providing visitors of Bozeman, Big Sky, and Yellowstone National Park superior 4WD rental cars that have kept them comfortable and safe in whatever weather conditions Montana can dish out.

We are the only car rental company in Bozeman that guarantees a Four Wheel Drive (4WD) or All Wheel Drive (AWD) rental car. Further, we are also the only business that installs snow tires on all of our rental cars in the winter, and 10-ply all-terrain tires in the summer, adding a level of safety simply not available anywhere else.

Explore Rentals is a brick-and-mortar rental car agency conveniently located right next to the Bozeman Airport (BZN), Explore Rentals is an Authorized BZN Concessionaire, with dedicated parking right outside of the Arrivals terminal allowing for a no-contact, no-waiting in line experience. All paperwork is completed electronically in advance and pick-up instructions are handled by text. Or, you can save the 10% BZN concession fee and pick up and return the car to our office.

Our fleet size and over a decade of experience ensure that your Montana trip will be smooth and safe. Do you really want to risk your vacation time on a Ride Share where the guy doesn’t have any ability to accommodate when something goes wrong- like the renter before you hitting a deer? Or on an individual/ non-rental agency that does not have any safety inspection protocols? Or do you want to risk getting a car through a franchise that will not guarantee you 4WD? Probably not.

HOW IT WORKS



RESERVE.

On our Reservations page, enter your desired rental dates in top right corner. Availability and pricing for your dates will be displayed for everything from rental cars to bear spray. Use the menu on left of page to view all items by category. Add desired items to cart and follow check out process. If items are not available, no price will be displayed. the absolute easiest way is to call the office 7/365 9-5pm; 406-922-0179.



CONFIRM.

A 15% credit card deposit is required to confirm all bookings (refundable if cancelled outside of 14-days from your arrival). You will be prompted for flight arrival/ departure times, contact info, as well as the CC info. Balance will be charged to this card at the end of your rental. Prior to your arrival we will send rental car contract to digitally sign. if picking up rental gear we will have a paper contract for you in the office.



PICK-UP.

You can pick up your rental car at BZN (+10% Airport Concession Fee) or at our office 1.5-miles from BZN (no charge). Most renters take an Uber or Lyft to our office to pick-up rental car ($15 & 5-minutes) while the family waits for bags. Rental gear items are to be picked-up and returned to our office only (no shipping). We will text you a photo of your car 30-minutes prior to your scheduled pick-up time.



RETURN.

You may return the vehicle to BZN at Explore Rental’s designated parking spots right outside of the departures terminal in Premium Parking section E1. $15 will be charged for parking reimbursement if you did not pay the BZN Concession Fee. Or, you may return the vehicle to our office for no additional charge. Your CC on file will be billed the balance due. All rental gear items need to be returned to the office.

Explore Rentals began in the summer of 2010 as a side-hustle.
