During closing ski weekend at Big Sky, I was able to test out the R-Pod to see what she had to offer. The towing and setup were quite easy for a first-time user of the trailer. The weather was beautiful during the weekend but, in typical Montana fashion, when the sun goes down, the temperature drops like a rock. We chose to camp at Moose Creek, which is a rustic camping area about 6-7 miles north of Big Sky. Amazingly, the campground was full, but this is most likely because it was the last ski weekend of the year.
Although there were plenty of tent campers, it was nice to have the amenities of the R-Pod for a chilly night’s sleep. It was wonderful to wake up to the sound of the Gallatin River and have a warm coffee and breakfast at my fingertips. We got an early start and headed up to the ski hill for the final day of the season. There were very few people out soaking in the sun and the views were hard to beat. It was a very enjoyable adventure- and who doesn’t love a camping/ skiing combo trip!
