I had a day off of work to kill on Sunday (4/3/16) and decided to get out and fish for a little bit. We had excellent spring weather and not wanting to mess with something that is already perfect I headed back down to the Upper Madison to fish for the day. Although somewhat uneventful it was still a fantastic day. I decided to drive down via Noris and Ennis having just taken 191 down through the Gallatin Gateway last week. The weather was hard to beat, nearing 67 and perfectly sunny when I headed out. It made for a wonderful drive.

I made it to the famous 3$ Bridge around 10:30 am with only 5-10 other cars in the parking lot and got geared up. The fishing was supposedly ‘phenomenal’, and I can only assume it was if one doesn’t forget a tapered leader and all of the right flies at home.. Even considering my slip-up I managed 3 big beautiful brown’s between 15″-20″ on nymphs. Unfortunately, I didn’t have a photographer and didn’t want to mishandle the fish so one will just have to take my word for it 😉 Maybe next time.

At the end of this week, I will be taking our R-Pod Travel Trailer and the float out for three days of fishing and marketing on the Missouri River. I promise to return with some actual evidence of fish being caught this time, otherwise facing the firing squad.. (Will, Laura, Meredith, cough).  In other news, we have also finished our week-long luxury Taj ma-(chicken)-coop project for our office chickens to reside in. Maybe we will take some pictures and introduce them all to you in the near future.

I’ll leave you with a few more pictures and a quote. Until next time, here is to tight lines and screaming reels, cheers.
