Bozeman, MT (July 25, 2016) – Explore Rentals is doing their part to ensure the safety of anglers in Yellowstone National Park by offering free bear spray rentals as well as education on how to behave while fishing in grizzly bear country.
At a time of year when Old Faithful is throbbing with tour buses, anglers still find themselves immersed in a truly wild environment, where bears and bison roam free. Park traffic often creates a false sense of security for those getting off the beaten path, and anglers should be particularly conscious of their surroundings. Advance preparation and education are imperative to the safety of the individual, the bear, and to the future of the Park. Carrying bear spray, and knowing how to use it, is recommended to all visitors traveling off of the pavement in Yellowstone National Park, especially to anglers prone to silently stalking their piscatorial pursuits among the willows and in the backcountry.
Will Casella, owner of Explore Rentals, states: “With the increased pressure on Park resources, we as business owners need to step it up to preserve and protect our futures together. We can’t help everyone, but if we can educate and prepare anglers, a group that has a high appreciation and return rate, it is a positive start.”
Upon presentation of a current Yellowstone Park Fishing license, Explore Rentals will provide education on how to behave while fishing in grizzly country, demonstration on how to use bear spray, and three days free rental usage of one canister with holster per fishing license. Pick-ups and drop-offs must originate and end at their office located 1-mile east of the Bozeman Airport at 32 Dollar Dr. Belgrade, MT 59714. Seven days a week 9-5pm. The offer is valid until the end of the 2016 YNP fishing season.
Until recently Explore Rentals was known as Phasmid Rentals; arguably the first business in the country to offer rental bear spray. Since its inception, they have been dedicated to providing visitors of Montana and Yellowstone National Park superior service with a strong commitment to conservation and education. In addition to providing rental bear spray, they rent IGBC compliant food storage systems, fly fishing equipment, drift boats, camping gear, and rental cars ideal for exploring the back-roads and natural beauty of the surrounding areas.
